Good Riddance to MyFox! - Click!
After nearly a year, I have decided to terminate my relationship with KTVI.A conflict of interest has boiled over. What I can't believe is how one person said the phrase "these bloggers who delete comments". "These bloggers?" Pardon my naivety, but wouldn't this person count themself as one of "these bloggers". Gee, I woun't have to exercise that button if people didn't use l33t sp3ak, leave little comments less than 25 words long, and especially prejudice. (We've all been guilty of that last one in one way or another.)
But what really pissed them off is when I showed them this picture.
It is no lie that the people at the Fox Network and their affiliates have been instructed NOT to treat people equally. How would the station or the network's shareholders react if they did not treat everyone equally?
I find it shocking to believe that suddenly a network that has supported the status quo says that they support a candidate who runs under the democractic ticket but she is as republican as a Tipper Sticker.
I've had enough!
Not to metion all the news stories that were ignored so that they could sell American Idol during the newscast and suppress any real news.
As of today any post related to news events will be posted under the news tag.

TMZ, Gossip Girl, and more nonsense we did not ask for needs to be canceled
The following post contains links to content that may be offensive to some people. If you do not want to see it, do not click on the links. Simple as that. This post was also mean to be posted here instead of at this website.Somehow, someone at the Fox Network (not KTVI in St. Louis) was not paying attention to what America really wanted: All the Paris Hiltons and O.J. Simpsons of the world to go away and drop dead.
All this entertainment news is nothing more than a distraction from real social issues that are going on that are so much more important right now. Instead of the latest news about the Jenna Six, we are bombarded with old and busted news storied about Jennifer Aniston. Instead of the Monks protest in Myamar, we are consumed by non-news about Brad Pitt's Pitbull.
There is no escape from "The Distraction" (entertainment non-news). You can't change the channel or turn of the TV. The Distraction is on all channels on TV, all stations on the radio, all over the Internet (through abused keywords that include The Distraction with The News), its in the news papers, at the sports staduims, the movie theatres, at the record store, and at the bookstore.
The Distraction is choking our throats, blinding our sight, and deafening our hearing. It is as thick as the sludge that smothered the creatures after the Valdez Oil Spill, which still has not been cleaned up in many areas after all these years, but hey you're not hearing about Exxon's ongoing trials. You're listening to that Akon song for the 100th time today.
Despite all the comment on the Internet (including those at this blog) to tell mass media (including this station) to STOP PATRONIZING celebrity news, the media did the exact opposite of what we wanted even MADE THEIR OWN MANUFACTURED REPRESENTATIVE (Chris Crocker) to make some boo hoo video defending a drunk and irresponible mother whose children should be seized by the state.
Shows like TMZ have been promoted as "You wanted it, you got it." If anyone at Channel 2 had been reading the blogs for the past year, you would have recognized WE DID NOT WANT IT! I am quite certain that if someone at KTVI had the courage to stand up against the Fox Network, they would cancel that program.
Then there are shows like on the CW called "Gossip Girl" where the radio ad for this program states "Everyone wants to be like us." What? Drunk, stupid, part of The Distraction, and 10 years barely sexy enough to look at. ("The Goggles! They Do Nothing!")
Lets not for get the Cable Networks, who proliferate this rediculous lifestyle that lasts for a very very very short time, promotes ignorance rather than true entertainment, and make television such a terrible thing.
On top of that the Recording Industry of which several musicians have recently vented their frustrations with the industry including Trent Reznor and Nelly.
The Distraction is starting to crumble under the weight of it's own doing. But Hollywood is not listening.
Why can't the real news be discussed? How hard is it to talk about social issues such as Jenna Six or the Saffron Revolution? All those years of Journalism school and the new opens up with the story about a baby puppy stuck in a drain pipe. As adorable as that is, that is the feel good story at the end of the broadcast after the Sports segment.
The news hasn't promoted activism to raise awareness of how our democracy is becoming a plaqued authoritarian aristocracy. It's being gummed up with The Distraction. I ask why The Distraction must be pervasive but community activism is deadpan.
The entire goal is to keep us sedate and let the status quo continue. Status quo is not limited to government control but the continuation of crime on the streets in our neighborhood.
This form of Status Quo allows Distraction campaigns like "Stop Snitching" (a promotion of not to tell police any information because of racial discrimination and a distrust of the police department) be so successful, but there are no campaigns of community activism to counter this campaign which continues to allow crime to proliferate. Let's not forget the Gas Mart locations in St. Louis City of which one of those two statons was selling AK-47. Both Stations are owned by a person who lives out in St. Peters. So what this guy is saying is that he wants his customers to continue to live in crime and squallor while he profits from selling weapons used by terrorists IN OUR OWN CITY!
There needs to be a greater awareness that there is a sting group that is cracking down on these crimes and that people can trust them and that they do want to help them. Instead of hearing about the sting operations, we hear news about what Sting did for lunch yesterday. So much for that community activism. The Distraction has sidetrack those plans like a kid with severe A.D.D. taking a class inside the Butterfly House.
This brings me to the next thing the Distraction has averted our attention away from: EDUCATION. Several school districts went on strike or avoided striking this week. Why these organizations have all summer to find an agreement on their contracts but decide to do it at the begining of the school year is ponderous. Teachers alway tell their students to prepare for the next school year, why can't students and parents do like wise. Even if the kids are out of school, they should spend that time constructively AT THE LIBRARY (if you think that's offensive, watch the reaction to the video (Everybody Moral Panic!)) instead of at home in front of the television where the Distraction tells them to not study, that being smart making you a nerd (what's so wrong about being a nerd?), or that if you don't socialize you are probably a homosexual. (Since when did being a nerd be confused with being gay?!) Nothing is stopping you from learning about something--ANYTHING--that you are interested in learning about. Since you are reading this blog, why not do a Google Search of find something on Wikipedia that is of interest to you?
But you aren't watching that. You're too busy watching the Disney Channel, watching that placated programming that creates the next generation of The Distraction.
So keep your eyes focused on what matters. Be active and do something. Do not be afraid to speak your mind or to be creative. And do not stand idle while The Distraction dulls your senses.
We Sleep. They Live.
